Increased Rainfall

Jamaicans should brace for heavy showers and thunderstorms over the next several days

A broad area of disturbed weather associated with a tropical wave across the central Caribbean is expected to influence weather conditions across the island this weekend.

The projections are that this system will slowly drift across the island over the next day or two. This will result in periods of showers and thunderstorms, which may be heavy at times, across sections of most parishes, especially during the afternoons. Therefore, flash flooding is possible over low-lying and flood-prone areas of all parishes.

Also, Fishers and other marine operators are urged to exercise extreme caution as sea conditions will deteriorate in the vicinity of showers and thunderstorms.

We will continue to monitor the situation, however, we invite you to share your thoughts and ideas below.
